With a composting toilet you are free and independent, as you can use it without electricity and water at almost any location. A composting toilet separates solid and liquid waste from each other and collects them in separate containers without your intervention. This makes it a self-contained system that you can use regardless of the conditions on-site.

Watch videoThe cornerstone of our composting toilets is our composting toilet insert, which ensures the competent separation of solid and liquid waste. The separation insert is designed in such a way that the composting toilet can be used like a conventional toilet, while the excretions inside are automatically separated.
Due to the separation, the use in combination with litter or an exhaust system, our composting toilets are 100% odour-free. A model with litter is recommended for occasional use in the allotment garden, for example, while models with an electric exhaust system are particularly suitable for continuous use.
To ensure that you can use your TROBOLO composting toilet with a clear conscience, we manufacture it using durable, resource-saving materials.
Both solids and liquids containers can be hygienically removed from your TROBOLO composting toilet in just a few easy steps and can be transported to an emptying location in an airtight seal.
The solid waste can either be composted or disposed of with household waste such as used nappies. The liquid excreta can be diluted with water and used as fertiliser for ornamental plants or fed into the sewage system via a conventional toilet.

Inside a composting toilet is a separation insert that ensures that solid and liquid excreta are collected in separate containers. This creates a self-contained system that requires neither water nor chemicals. Consequently, a composting toilet can be used self-sufficiently at any location. The separation mechanism also has several other advantages. For starters, odour development is suppressed, so that the use of a composting toilet is absolutely odourless. In addition, the separated excreta can be removed hygienically and disposed of independently.
Unpleasant odours only arise when faeces and urine mix and thus set fermentation processes in motion. By separating the solid and liquid excreta, odour formation is already inhibited in its origin when using a composting toilet. Additional measures can be taken to completely prevent the development of odours. Depending on the intended use, TROBOLO offers various options for odour-free toilet use. For continuous use, an electric exhaust system is recommended, which effectively removes residual odours. For occasional use, litter can be used to achieve odourlessness.
In general, it is possible to dispose of the solid waste together with the inlay in the household waste, similar to used diapers. Alternatively, the solid waste can also be composted. The liquid excreta can be disposed of via a regular toilet or diluted with water and used as natural fertiliser.
This question cannot be answered in a general way, as it depends on the size of the containers of the composting toilet on the one hand, but also on how often they are used. In addition, it plays a role whether you use your composting toilet with an electric exhaust system or with litter. If you opt for an electric exhaust system, you can wait until the solids and liquids containers are full before emptying your composting toilet.
